Ever since Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith came out, I’ve been overcome with the urge to acquire various Star Wars themed collectibles, primarily Hasbro action figures. Soon the desire expanded into other kinds of toys. Over the years I’d pick up a toy here and there if it looked cool or held some meaning for me, but this new obsession was altogether different. It began innocently enough–my brother and I had just seen the movie for the second or third time, and decided to check out Toys “R” Us and maybe pick up a keepsake…

It began innocently enough–my brother and I had just seen the movie for the second or third time, and decided to check out Toys “R” Us and maybe pick up a keepsake.

That fateful visit to “TRU” was all it took. I became obsessed with finding this Anakin/Vader combo figure, and the next thing you know we’re showing up at Target at 8 a.m. on Saturday to get first dibs on hard-to-find figures. Little did I know that in this day and age you can’t just walk into a store at any time of day and find what you need. You have to “hunt” for it! It’s all in good fun, and it’s a great way to reconnect with my childhood.

Anyway, the next best to thing to building a collection is taking pictures of it! Below are some photos of my modest collection (click on an image to see a larger version). I know some of these are kinda blurry, but it’s the best I can do at the moment. I gotta thank my buddy Miker for the big picture in the middle. While he was in town a few months ago he snapped a few shots while we were partying, capturing some of the toys in the background. Well I cropped out our ugly mugs and put together a collage.

Enjoy!
