I think that comment by Yoda about "letting her go" was a very deliberate foreshadowing of some grim fate for Ashoka. My first guess is that she dies, but another possibility is that she turns to the dark side. Funny thing is, I didn't really even pay much attention to that line when I saw the movie, but my brother told me afterward he thought it might indicate she'd die by the end of the film.
